About Artist

Fascinated with the quality and beauty of the "Line" I work mostly in Drypoint.  The lines are hand drawn directly onto the copperplates using a sharp etching tool.  The line style is varied using hand pressure.  Sometimes with Drypoint I use Aquatint and Hand Roller.

All my works are based on models photographed by myself.  In these works the central themes are often the Japanese Summer, Japanese Mythology, Japanese Female Divers - Amasan, and Literature.  Based in Japan my works share the boldness of traditional Japanese "Shunga" Art.

Most of the models for these works are local Osaka people, and all of the models have a keen interest in art, and some of the models are in fact artists themselves.

All my works are hand printed original copperplate etchings printed on heavy weight Hahnemuhle Etching Paper.
